Flexible ties are fiberglass or basalt-plastic reinforcing rods of circular cross-section, covered with a continuous layer of quartz sand or having a sand coating at the ends of the flexible tie. Thanks to the sandy coating, which has good adhesion to the masonry mortar, the flexible bond is securely fixed in the masonry. In addition, the sand coating significantly increases the corrosion resistance of the bond surface in the alkaline environment of the concrete.
